2002 Denbigh Agricultural Show.

The National Land Agency (NLA) made its debut at the Denbigh Agricultural Show 2002. This was part of its marketing and public relations thrust to promote its products and services to the wider public.

By the overwhelming response from Denbigh patrons, the Agency’s presence at the agricultural show was a tremendous success. Members of the public appreciated the opportunity to address concerns pertaining to land while away from home. Some of the issues raised included the revaluation of land for property tax purposes, issues on land settlement, land titling and surveys and mapping matters. One lady who was concerned about the increase in her property tax commented after speaking with a valuer at the NLA’s booth that she had a better understanding of the land valuation process and the reasons for the increase.

The Agency’s demonstration of some of its services using the latest technologies was considered quite impressive. “I am quite fascinated about the e-land services”, says Henry Cooper, a patron from St. Elizabeth. elandjamaica is an e-commerce facility that the Agency is expected to launch at the end of the year. It will provide subscribers access to selected land information maintained by the Agency.

Given the high level of patron interest, the NLA is committed to showcasing its products and services annually at Denbigh.
